My daughter Jennifer and my 9-year-old grandson Hayden arrived in town on 6/27, so we scheduled a day fishing trip today.
For various reasons we did not end up leaving the slip until almost 2 PM. We headed directly to Mountain Point and got 2 lines in the water ASAP.
At 3:30 PM a mini disaster struck. I went to use the freshwater in the sink but there was little to no water pressure. I have a gauge that shows how many gallons of water are left in the tank and it was showing only 32 gallons. I knew this was a problem because the tanks when full hold 70 gallons and I had just filled the tanks the day before.
I immediately went down into the engine room and saw a lot of water down there. A little bit of further investigation revealed a pretty bad leak in the aft starboard corner. It looks like either the water hose/pipe in that area has a split in it somewhere, or possibly the fitting in that area has failed. Until this can be resolved the freshwater system is down.
Shortly after that we hit a good fish. It turned out to be a King Salmon about 29" in length. They must be 28" in order to keep them, so this was a keeper.
After that we got several more fish, but they were all too small to keep. We had dinner while fishing and got back into the slip at about 7:30 PM. We logged only 21.6 nm for this trip.
